Looking 2 or 3 pre-loved 4tb internal 3.5” SATA hard drives for NAS duty.

A couple of mine are on their way out. The chances of someone having upgraded is pretty high!

I’m based in Christchurch, happy to collect. Or will pay shipping from elsewhere.

PM if you have any needing a new home.

Thanks!

The problem is that 4TBs were being bought so long ago that they will be like all mine. 1000s of days usage and on their way out too.

I've just upgraded some 3TB disks in my NAS to secondhand 4TB Seagate Ironwolves (37K hours each, ~NZD100 each plus shipping from Tauranga).  Half to a third the age of my 3TB disks, clearly I picked winners to begin with.

There don't seem to be many good second hand disks out there IME.  I have bought duds in the past.  Were they duds before they were shipped?  Don't know.

(edit: maybe I don't need more storage right now + bad experiences)

Yep. My set of 8 I just replaced have just under 11 years of power-on time. A friend's about to borrow 'em for a RAID reorganisation., I'm a bit dubious about how well they'll survive.

If you don't have any local offers, let me know and I'll dig through our collection of retired drives.  I know we have at least two 4Tb WD Red drives that were installed in a NAS and used for once a day backups.  Shipping would be from Auckland.
