I am in the market for any Android box with a relatively recent Android version or easily upgradable. I use these for bedroom streaming but my current one is a generic box from Aliexpress running Android 6.0 and it doesn't cope well with more modern apps. Doesn't have to be fancy. I don't need another Shield, just something to go to sleep to. If you have something unused lying around, I am happy to part with a few dollars for it.

I've got what I think is a SmartVu V11 I was thinking of selling (I upgraded to a google tv streamer a while back)
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/TVNDTV2011/DishTV-SmartVu-V11-4K-Android-10-TV-Streaming-Dong

Not 100% sure of the model, will have to double check what it is later (am not near it right now).

The SmartVu V11 is Android 10, so more modern than your device but not the latest Android TV version (and I doubt the vendor is going to make a newer Android TV version available for them).

Not sure if that meets your desired requirements or not?   Was thinking $50ish + postage in my case.

If you want a Google TV Streamer 4K, I have one $100.

If you end up looking at a brand new device, the $150 SmartVu SV11 from DishTV has served me well for 2+ years and is still a current model.  Paired with our Veon TV and Sony sound bar, the Bluetooth remote on the SV11 does not require you to point it at the TV, and it will power the TV and sound bar on and off from standby.  Good reliability.  (I have to reboot it gracefully using the remote control every other month if a streaming app does not want to launch.)

I don't specifically know if it has a sleep timer function.  If you are interested, I can have a look tonight.

For helping me settle to sleep after a busy-brain day, I like listening to audiobooks.  Time has shown that novels or autobiographies work best for me, and I'm currently listening to Patrick Stewart's autobiography.  I use the Audible app.  My partner is currently listening to a series that I think is called 'a sleepy history', which is a series of (from memory) quite interesting hour-long history lessons narrated at a slow pace.  I think she streams these from Spotify, but they may be available on other platforms.

I use mine mainly for streaming but not only that. I also have other Android apps on it. I would like to find something similar, just with a more modern Android OS. I will keep these in mind but want to see what else turns up. Thanks for the offers.

You won't get more modern than what is on the Google TV streamer
