Before I buy an AliExpress Intel X540-T2 card I thought I'd check if anyone on here has a card they don't need. Looking for two 10G copper ports with a low profile bracket, not too fussy on controller as long as it will work with opnSense

If you get the aliexpress ones, it will need a fan. Mine was giving weird issues with file copies stalling and weird lag that stopped when I cooled it better.

Go Broadcom, avoid intel if you can, especially in 24/7 environments, anything with the BCM57412 chipset, circa $200 NZD on Aliexpress

Thanks for the advice! I actually have a couple of these but SFP+, and can use a DAC in one port so may just look into a single RJ45 transceiver for the port I need to be RJ45

Funnily enough I have DACs and SFP+ 10G cards, might be better to just get a single RJ45 transceiver for the port I need RJ45 for

If you can get a RJ45 transceiver that doesn't overheat your will, be away all good

The Broadcom runs a lot cooler than the intel and you won't have the overheating issues
