I tried out Meshtastic and it's just not for me. I have a (barely used at all) Sensecap and a Heltec V3 in it's case, both looking for a good home. I figure $100 for the pair seems fair plus shipping if you don't want to pick them up in Albany. They'll fit in a small post bag. I can throw in a 3dprinted holder for the sensecap as well. Just printed in PLA.

Both devices have been reset and are ready to be set up.

And just in case it needs to be stated, these don't need a license to operate or sell unlike some ham radios.

I was thinking of selling mine, but I came across the MeshCore project and would like to give that a try first.

Messaging seems much more reliable, but unless we see a significant increase in the number of nodes, I don't think it'll ever be useful to me.

I have shelved all mine. At best it allows me to talk to other people which is something that I dont really want to do. I was hoping that there would be a reliable way to get messages to and from the house to me if the internet at home goes down, but with almost noone out there in the mesh, that aint happening.

If your devices are off, then the mesh is smaller... Egg/chicken.

As it is, @richms got them off. So sending to Wellington won't be detrimental for Auckland's network...

I think some of them are still on. The app decided the firmware was too old, and there is no way to update them over the air or over bluetooth so at that point I thought I would try meshcore on the 2 that were plugged into a PC and that didnt seem to want to work for me at all. Might still have some powered up in the shed that are on obsolete meshtastic but I am not sure.
