Having a clear out and a bit of an upgrade around the house - part of that involved upgrading a bunch of my Shelly Gen 1 devices to Gen3, not because there was anything wrong with them, but because my Wifi was struggling to cope with all the devices. The Gen 3 units have a better aerial so better reception, but more importantly they can do some WiFi extension / proxy tricks which is just what I needed for those very hard to reach areas. Now the job is done and everything is back to normal and I no longer have devices on/off the network depending on whether certain doors are open or closed!

But my loss (it was pricey) is your potential gain....I have:

  • 14x Gen 1 Shelly 1PM
  • 3x Gen 1 Shelly 1
  • 3x Gen 1 Selly 2PM

They all work, no issues there.

I'm not sure what to ask for them, so PM me with an offer for some or all if you're interested. Any reasonable offer considered - this could be a good opportunity to dip your toes in the home automation pool, or to deploy a few more where the benefits are marginal (since you can get these cheap) or to pick up some spares!

:-)

Sorry if its a stupid question - but what is the difference between these and the Shelly Pro 1PM? As in the ones that mount on the DIN rails in your switchboard. I am looking at the Pro 1PM, but do these do the same thing?

The Pro works at a switchboard level which is nice if you have a specific circuit or device to control (like a spa or a hot water cylinder). These do the same thing but are small enough to pop in behind the light switches - which is what I used them for...anything you want to turn on/off automatically or remotely - these will work. The difference between the "1" and the "1PM" is that the "1" has dry contacts (so can be used for switching a load or operating a device like a garage door, while the 1PM can only switch loads, but can also measure the power consumption.  These will work on their own (they have a tiny web interface), with the Shelly App, or will a platform such as Home Assistant.

FUG rules ask you to have a price listed.

What is the approximate age of these devices?

I have no idea what they're worth - so open to offers (maybe $10-$12 each + shipping). They are probably about 4 years old?
