Hello peeps -

I was gifted a $125 USD gift card through Tango, but unfortunately, I am based in New Zealand. Sadly they cant be exchanged to NZD by the provider once they are issued.

The options to convert them to are here: https://www.tangocard.com/reward-catalog - Expiry is July 2026.

Looking for $180 NZD, so that would be a 15% based on current exchange rate.

Why not just get the "Virtual Promotional Prepaid Credit Card"? Spending that you lose 2% for spending in a currency other than USD. Might be a bit finicky some places, if they are looking for a NZ credit card vs overseas. Or converted to JBHifi/Farmers/Amazon.au would be the next most useful I suppose.

You might even pay less that the 2% if you accept the merchants ex rate and settle in USD,

Pretty sure most systems will offer to settle in the home currency of the card presented (for which the card merchant takes an inflated ex rate, but it still potentially less than 2%)

Maybe I've misunderstood what you mean... but they dont have an option, otherwise I would be open to that. I was hoping it was jsut going to be a prepaid Visa card with USD on it, but sadly was not.

Was hoping someone might looking to buy soemthing from the retailers listed that would benefit :)

I think the others were suggesting you exchange it for one of the cards circled in yellow - It sounds like it's just a prepaid Mastercard/Visa loaded with USD, which should let you shop anywhere where credit card is accepted?

Sadly that is not an option- doesn’t seem to show up in my catalogue.
I’ve reached out to their support visa their form, but I’m guessing the option was disabled for this gift card based on the issuer?
