Hey there folks,

I'm not desperate to sell but I'd be interested to see if anybody is keen on this lil guy, I'm sort of interested to see what you guys think he's worth.  The catch 22 is that Joe Bloggs on TM won't appreciate the value of the SSD, but the market that will (i.e. you guys) won't really be interested in a notebook 5 years old.  I LOVE this notebook and would take it over a netbook any day...

12.1" 4:3 screen
Pentium M ULV processor, 1.1 GHz
1.25GB RAM
32GB Kingspec SSD
Wifi (B/G)
4x USB 2.0 ports
NO BUILT IN OPTICAL DRIVE
Super thin, as in Macbook Air slim.  Only weighs 1kg.

Comes with extended battery , both on board and extended battery are excellent, although as I run Linux, they drain much quicker than under Windows.  I haven't the foggiest as to how to install Windows, as I run Linux Mint.  It doesn't boot from USB.  It does, however, boot from a CF card in the PCMIA adapter I have, switching to USB halfway through installing Linux.  See here for more :-)

So, how much do you think it's worth?
The SSD is not the best on the market , but it's WAAAAAY better than the stock 4200RPM HDD that comes in these units.  It cost me about $240 by itself, but I don't regret it at all! Boots to Linux Mint login screen in 17 seconds and is COMPLETELY silent unless you fire up flash of video. :-)

Ask away if you have any questions...

That unit would possibly sell for about 400-500 brand new in the shops these days.... Little hard to find the sdd drive units though so you might be able to get the higher end of the price range. Finding out about installing Win7 on it would help for the sale too.

Thanks for your thoughts.  I might throw it up on TM with a high reserve to gauge interest.  As I said, not desperate to sell, but like the look of the Dell D430.

Argh I just wrote out a big post about the buy now and it must have had a bad word in it.... Yeah I don't expect $600 for it, but I get sick of people asking for a Buy Now so I just reacted and put something up for the sake of it. Feel free to make me an offer, as I mentioned, I'm just trying to see what people would pay for it.

R200s go for around $600 and they have bluetooth and a slightly better processor. But without the extended battery or SSD.

Sorry for being a bit of a stroker about it :-)

I stand corrected and humbled!  I guess that's my fault for just looking at the auctions and not how they finish!  So....what do you think it's worth?  Seriously, make me an offer.

No thanks, if I can't get more than $400 for it I'm not keen on selling.  I realise that R200 went for cheaper, but it's worth more to me :-)

Oh well, we'll see how the auction goes, but thanks anyway and again, sorry about taking the mick on TM!

I remember your name from a few other R100 auctions in the past - have you got one or ever had one?  They're really great little machines.
