I'm looking to upgrade my ubuntu fileserver to brighter and better things, and am trying to get an idea of whether anyone's interested in this old gear. Everything's presently working well and cool, disks sitting at a steady 20 degrees, with regular disk scrubs run.
Specs are:
Intel Q6600 (B3 revision, quad core, 2.4GHz), comes with Cooler Master Z600 passive cooler (this thing's huge, but dissipates the heat silently - you'll still need a case fan)
Intel DQ35JO motherboard
8GB DDR2 RAM
7 x 1TB Samsung Ecogreen drives (F1 for 6 of them, F2 for the one that was replaced) Disks were bought from Dove in August 2008
1 x 1TB Western Digital WD10EADS - this runs a few degrees hotter than the Samsungs
No case
No PSU
Basically, I'm open to offers - hoping for a few hundred at least. I haven't placed an order for the replacements yet, so delivery would be a week or two away.
