Hey,

WAS (have got one now) after a cheap PCI Satellite Tuner card for use with an older computer that's just laying about.

Hear good things about the Hauppauge units but would be happy with anything that windows media centre recognises ok.   Was going to use windows 7 or stick with XP and use something like GB-PVR etc.

Thanks all.

Do you want one or two?

I have a couple of Hauppauge PCI Nova-S cards that I want to upgrade in the next couple of weeks.

I grabbed a $10 usb one off ebay.. it lags sometimes for FreeView but with a full size aerial should do okay for a cheap setup.

Is that a Freeview via Sat or Freeview|HD? The OP is after a satellite tuner which doesn't use an aerial.

Oh okay, my mistake... I assume it's not what he's looking for then... it's Terrestrial DVB-T.

Yeah satellite only at this stage. The computer I want to add this to has only got 1x PCI expansion slot. It's old school too, so terrestrial is definitely out, other than for recording purposes maybe.

Satellite just seems easier as it's a lot easier for the CPU to number crunch, and you get the full EPG etc easily as wel. Hoping some of those media centre features, like record to DVD etc, will work easily with media centre too.

Done, all sorted now.

Went with the Nova S in the end.

Thanks everyone and maybe someone else here will contact you about the cards you have for sale too.
