Amazing.. That is the number I called last time and they were really unhelpful. I called again, got another guy, he said..

GL1000 known issue, will be replaced under warranty with a GL2050 with new maps, free of charge, can I have your serial number.

3 weeks to get a replacement, but certainly better than a kick in the face :)

Tom Tom actually have a NZ team including a hard working country manager who I deal with frequently. If you have any problems I would be happy to pass the info on.

Well I think I have a resolution, though the downside is by the time it gets back I will actually have been without my GPS for 8 weeks. If there was anything to be done about ensuring it's back in a fortnight that would be most excellent, or if there was any chance they would forward replace it if I secured with a CC that would be really very good.

The only thing I am unsure of, is what maps will be included with the new unit.

I didn't think they have one. I always dealt with Australia and the local PR team confirmed it's all done through there.

I knew there was a local sales rep that visits the retail stores, but I lost her number unfortunately.

I have sent a PM to networkn who should be able to get a TomTom replacement a bit faster now, thanks to TomTom reaching us with a quicker replacement alternative.

Amazing, thanks for the follow up and the extra help, really restored my faith in TomTom!

Thanks to MF for his extra help as well, that was well above and beyond what I'd hoped for.
