Hi
I just bought a cheap GPS tracker and am having a hard time understanding setup.

GPRS Setup : In order to use GPRS function, the user needs to set IP, Port and APN by sending SMS commands.
Set an IP address and Port : Send SMS adminp+123456+space+IP address+space+port

Im a rookie so can someone explain the IP address and port...Is it the Ip address of my internet connection? and whats my port number or how do I find this?
Also send SMS apn+123456+space+specify apn
Whats apn (access point name) is this a number or name of my sim card company?

Can someone help me out and explain in a simple way

Thanks

how about some more details on exactly what kind of GPS tracker you brought? looks like it takes a sim card to send the information via SMS (text message).

Maybe a photo as well

first off, do you have a sim card for it? if not you will need to get one, depending on the mobile network you will need to load the APN for that provider.

I can't see why the IP address is needed. Looking at it the APN really isn't needed either unless there is some mobile data been sent back and forward (is there a web interface for it, this could be why?)

As far as getting an SMS message back it looks like you just have to ring it, it then reports back via a text message,
