In terms of software and navigation, is there anything that a PDA with TomTom software can't do that a dedicated unit can do?

Also, which PDAs in NZ are able to run the software?

Just wondering as I'm the market for both, so I thought I might look into getting one device if it can do both jobs well.

I think you will find that the screen size on a TomTom device wins over any PDA. Also I believe the sound is better.

Then you have the problem with maps. I was talking to TomTom about New Zealand maps for TomTom PDA. The short version is tht New Zealand maps are v7 and TomTom PDA is v6. So at the moment there's no way to get New Zealand maps working on TomTom PDA.
