Me and my partner are going to the US in December. We are spending 9 days in LA and are planning on getting a rental car.
Having never been, we really need GPS to get us around, however most rental companies charge around US$12/day to hire one with the car. I don't want to pay over $100USD to hire one when I could probably pick one up on eBay for cheaper, or alternativey use my partners Blackberry Pearl 8110 which has GPS.
In NZ we use Vodafone Compass for GPS, which downloads data over the network. I doubt this will work over there, plus the roaming charges would be astronomical.
Is there any software available where we could load california maps onto the pearl and use turn by turn navigation that is not OTA?
Perferably something that costs less than $100US all up for software plus maps would be ideal. THe device has a 2GB microSD card in it, will this be enough?
