Hi all,

I am looking around to see what kids GPS watch are about, one of my kids wants to start going to school by themselves and would be nice if there was an option for him to call us if there is a isuse etc..

What will I need, SIM card, phone plan for smart watch and the watch.

Does anyone do this? any recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

My understanding is the only watches without a subscription of some sort would be one of those Xiaomi Mi watches you can get from Aliexpress. From personal experience it works well. The GPS isn't great as the maps aren't all that detailed but for me being able to receive and make calls to the watch is more important.

Garmin have the Bounce kids watch. Doesn;t allow phone calls but it does allow text and voice messages.

The Bounce is a great idea (apart from the subscription aspect!).  But seem to be quite a few issues.  Perhaps the next generation version will be better.
