Hi,
We are going to UK/Italy in May and a friend has lent us his Navman Series S . It has UK Map but we would like one for Italy.  Can any tell me  where I can access one quickly (not on line as I need to show the retailer the unit as I don't know and neither does lender, which Series S it is. Also how much it might cost.  Rental rates for a GPS in Italy are very expensive.   Many thanks

Sorry, unrelated... but if you're going to Italy, and don't have it planned, make the effort to spend a few days in the Cinque Terre. You will not regret it. It's heading towards becoming a tourist hell, so if you can you should go before that happens :)

All you need to know is that is a S series... when you enter the unlock code using the PC software it will download the map.

Thanks. Can I do this in UK as well as here in NZ. Is it possible to buy a secondhand memory card already downloaded with Europe map. We don't own the Navman and don't really want to pay $200 for a week in Italy for a map.

I guess you could do it when over there but personally I would want to make sure it is in and works before I left our shores.

As for getting second hand maps I am not sure if that works or not. Never looked into it.

After a quick look it seems that when you load a map onto the GPS it locks to that device so you can only use a sealed unused map.
