Hi all.

I am about to have a tablet laptop installed in my car for work and am interested in using it as a gps system. I dont use a tomtom as I trialed one about a year ago and it wouldnt let me update the maps myself (and napier was about a year out of date + We have a new street every 2 months at the moment)

So I was wondering if anyone knows of a pc program that could be used for in car gps on a 'carputer'. I currently have the java based MGMaps on my nokia?6275 with a cache of google maps but would like a pc based program similar to this. I am thinking of buying a usb gps unit and installing it in my car for this as well.

I was thinking the gps enabled version of google earth might work but maps would be better.

Has anyone got any thoughts?

Google Centrafuse if you're running Windows. Looks very cool, but costs a little bit of moolah.
