Hi All,

Is anyone else experiencing slow speeds across the 2d network at the moment. With the share volume of network consolidation due to 'merger'/ augment changes etc., I wonder if there's some routing issues/optimisation required. I'm struggling to get anywhere near my limits of the full speed connection via Speedtest.net for example. (yes testing on ethernet, even with a fresh Linux build just to make sure)

Nick.

Funnily enough my mum just got internet with them, I went around to set the router up and did a speed test on my phone out of curiosity, while standing next to the router I was getting 6mb/s download lmfao

I've not noticed any trouble today while WFH. Getting full speed to various Auckland servers.

I have to say, since the merger the amount of disconnects from game servers (in particular) has been getting ridiculous. Running a speed test on my UDM Pro gives me 900 Mbps down and 510 Mbps up. A friend of mine, much more clever than I am with regard to his comprehension of networking said, the 'retention rate' with Orcon has been poor so moved to Spark.. Spark gives me the hebe gebes but im considering moving now considering the issue I've been having.

I'm seeing general slow downs especially at peak times. Netflix, Disney plus all have been showing compression artifacts in the image which is a clear sign of slow speeds (have tested the wired connection from my TV and its gigabit).

I can't say with any certainty that the merger operation is to blame buts its certainly a strange coincidence that I've been having so many issues since.

My 2 cents

I've got chorus coming out tomorrow. Never had any issues with slow speeds or disconnects until I joined ultra fibre unlimited plan. Had 3 or 4 orbis and the same amount or fritzboxes. Escalation team wasn't able to solve my issues for 6 months, chorus has been called out.

Had so many techs trying to help, nothing was working. If chorus finds nothing wrong with my lines/ont... then I don't know what's going on.

Been with 2d for years with no issues whatsoever. I remember reading something on here about mitigation??? When I changed plans, I was moved over to a new system??? That's when all the problems started.

Been more focused on the wifi disconnections then speeds. All but gave up. No disconnections with ethernet cable (many different devices). Hoping chorus finds something.

You're about to get charged a no fault fee. As everyone has told you now in your multiple threads the fact you're not getting disconnects over Ethernet proves your connection is fine. I don't know how else to explain this to you... We've all tried and I bet my bottom dollar 2degrees has too. Your problem is WiFi interference and that has nothing at all to do with 2degrees.

Please stop hijacking thread on here with your problem as this thread is fully unrelated. Continue the discussion in your other thread where others (including myself) have asked for more information but have failed. Refer to my last reply here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=307052&page_no=1#3127979 - you've finally said Ethernet is fine after all this time proving my point.

I'm going to lock this thread as the initial question was answered. The problem is there are 2 networks (legacy and new) and I suspect Nicks problem may be related to the old network where most people have been migrated already to the new.
