It was almost 12 months ago since the last announcement, how many active customers do you predict?
Last year they had 206k customers.

I predict 550,000... I'm just about to swich another right now.

My flatmate switched bout 6 months ago from telecom cdma and just set another mate up also

Was going to shift my parents over too but then TelstraClear came out with that special (free mobile and no monthly charge)

Not sure - Certainly I run into lots of people using 2degrees now where it was rare when I switched over.

It's not the easiest to judge though because there are so many ported numbers.

managed to get my whole family moving to 2d in the last 6 months.
And 70% of them ported their 021 numbers.
You never know who is on 2d these days.

Some of my friends who are still on vodafone txt2000 told me when they group txt, they always spent some extra money, but never knew who ported their numbers away....

550k that is nearly 2.5 times more than the previous 206k
I wont go that far, I predict something like 350k
Anyway 2d is winning in the prepay and data bundle war, and must gained heaps of customers when they give away the 100 mins for the on account plans

If I was to go with 2degrees, I wouldn't be porting my number, I'd get a brand new 022 one. I don't think it's fair that people get charged extra when they call/text me and don't know which network I'm on.

I get the best deal for me.
Up to the other person to get the deal that work's for them.
You can't tell by prefix any more what network people are on,why be on a plan that you even need to think about it!

I actually moved from 2D to XT because data is cheaper. Don't want to spend $20/month on 2D. I want 400MB/month min and get 480MB/month for $11 with XT.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Exactly my point - if I have an 022 number, people will know what they're in for if they call me or text me. I wouldn't be porting any number over :)

Kinda like how the early people on 2d plans got the bonus 100 minutes. You gotta be in quick.

Don't forget that the market penetration has increased substantially in the past 12 months. XT crash + VF's issues. Plans and 3G. The reason I predict so high is because there will be a LOT of people who have just bought the sims for data only now.

Also I am aware of a lot more of my friends have 022 numbers which shows something is changing.

I got my whole family to switch and port their numbers from Vodafone to 2Degrees. I kept my number when switching as it's such a good number and it's people on Vodafone's fault that texting me costs 20c. If they have a problem they should switch to a better provider.
