Hi All,

Just an update for our North Island ADSL2+ Broadband customers.

We are in the process of transitioning ADSL2 customers in the North Island over to terminate directly in areas throughout the North Island instead of just Christchurch.  All ADSL2 connections will be automatically switched to new handovers, and upon re-authentication from Monday morning onwards - most of your data will no longer go via Christchurch...generally this should happen by itself, or if you like, you can just restart your DSL router to make the change manually.

Any connections that haven't moved over by this Friday 15th, will be forced to re-authenticate, which should only take a few seconds, however some routers may still need to be rebooted.

Just to reemphasize, this is for ADSL2+ connections only, ADSL1 connections are not affected at this time.

This shouldn't cause any disruptions but please call us on 0800 276 232 if you come across any issues.

If I join on naked dsl now would it go straight onto the new handover?

Also whats the deal on extra data? Best I can see on the site is an extra 100 gigs for $80. Where is the details of the extra blocks I can buy during the month, and do they roll over like the current junk ISP I am on that is throttling my rsync over ssh down to 6.8kB/sec, or do I need to use them up within the month bought so leading to wasteage at the end of the month, and do they autopurchase or do I have the internet break till I can login to top it up?

Level 48 of a tall structure in the middle of town. It's been sitting there for a while now, saw it mid/late last year.

If you want to force the switch and you're in the North Island - restart your modem and report back.

These tests were made from Hamilton so we could probably expect lower pings from Auckland connections.

Good work Snap, please keep it this way :)

Hi people:

Has the handover change happen fow Wellington yet? I noticed that my connection seem to be very bad these last few days, and if anything my latency has almost doubled!

Does anyone know if and when Wellington will be cutover to the Auckland hadover?

Cheers
