Hey Guys

I am a customer of Slingshot and have been for a couple of years and the service has been fantastic, Good pings, no Jitter.. yeh just good apart from the 2Mbps downstream over that time and pinging Servers in Auckland at 20ms or 30ms in Wellington

I live in Totara Park where I've spotted about 2 Cabinets which I think are well within 1.5km/h especially the one just around the corner from my street approximately 300-400metres.
Near the end of August net speeds had doubled. I was like.. Wow, excitement.

Serven Days in to September and speeds had pretty much tripled as you can see by the Signiture below but there's a problem, I notice more Jitter, Higher Latency (this is madness).
I use to Ping Wellington at 30ms, it's now at 50ms or above. I'm pinging Auckland at 45ms.

Would anyone know what the problem is? because I seriously doubt this has anything to do with Slingshot and it's quite bothering playing online at times..

Cheers Cool

There appear to have been some issues with the Wgtn speedtest.net server over the past week - if you were using that as a guide I wuldn't trust any of the results.

I ping Slingshot after cabinetisation 38ms, it use to be 20ms.
And those results are true over 2weeks ago.

Looks like interleaving is on. It's pretty standard to get 50ms to local servers with interleaving on.

Turn interleaving off completely and you'll get around 10 to 20ms to local servers, but it can make your connection more unstable.

Earlier this year I requested Slingshot to switch my interleaving off and they did, the connection was great and server ping was significantly lower. Why would this change?

It may have changed when your were cabinetised.

This is a very common issue/complaint, post cabnetisation interleaving ends up on by default, you need to ask for it to be turned off again.

When moving to a cabinet each DSL connection is rebuilt, there are standard defaults of which interleaving on are applied (so it seems) so you need to re request it off.

I went from 9ms to my webserver to 11-13 on slingshot when going onto the cabinet. Well worth it for the massive boost in speed. Get more than that on snap which is weird since both their handover and the webserver are at the skytower.
