Finishes early Feb, which means I won't be able to add any data to my collection as I won't be heading to any new towns before then

I noticed yesterday that all the points I'd already collected were now active again, so I've been re-visiting them all to complete my 10GB.

Did you not get a notification around New Year's that they'd reset all the pins?

^ Thanks for the information.

No notification received, and because I had collected everything I hadn't bothered opening the app.
Have now and yes I see that all the pins have been reactivated

I must have missed that notification too but just assumed they must have reset them all for the new year when I saw them all blue again. I changed from Vodafone so I could do this as my partner had enjoyed doing it last year and I've found it a bit of fun and of course great to get something for free. Have gathered 7GB so far around Wellington plus visiting family up north (mostly Auckland) over the Xmas/New Year break, so with everything reset I should be able to get up to the 10GB by the end of it. Managed to get one of the New Year's Eve golden pins in Te Awamutu as we were visiting my parents there and there was one in the town centre.

I've also found the app a bit slow to load and often seem to get the text before the pin has finished spinning, and occasionally can't even get the pin when I seem to be standing on top of it but not going to complain about getting something for nothing.

I recollected three points at lunch and got 100, 150 and 300MB from them
This is much better than 30 and 50MB spins.

I've found sometimes that pressing the zoom button on the bottom-left sometimes helps to trigger the 'Lets go' button. Usually one or two presses does the trick.

Yeah I do that for every pin anyway but have had the occasional one or just wouldn't let me get.

No, I've never received any notifications.

Yesterday while getting some pins, I managed to activate one while I was half a block away ... yet couldn't activate one I was right on top of.

And don't get me started on how slow the app is to load ...

However the pins to seem to be a LOT more giving of free data - I had collected 2.1GB getting most of the Dunedin pins the first time around (I think in another post I may have said 1.9 - whoops). Yesterday after 10 pins I had already collected 1.8GB.

So, I can forgive the app strangeness and lack of notification that the pins had reactivated for the extra data (side night, I told my father that the pins had reactivated and he said he had got a notification and didn't tell me as he assumed I had received one as well)

Hi @nzkiwiman - check your GPS/location settings are set on 'high accuracy' if it's an android, close the app and phone and restart after a minute if it happens again on a Data Hunt.

Cheers

I was up in Auckland for work over the weekend and was reminded about the data hunt game by the advertising around the 2D stores.

Managed to get around 2GB around Queen St/Viaduct area including a Golden Pin, while I missed another at the Airport as I only saw it after security and couldn't get near it

So it does, 11:59pm on 6th February 2018 to be exact.

Interesting to note it has been extended twice that I know of. Current finish date is 19th February 2018. I'm also seeing more gold pints. Now I think about it I got most of my gold pins the first time round during the last few weeks so wonder if they hold back the gold points for the last few weeks.

The blue pins seem to be worth a lot more now. 18 pins today in Auckland .

I'm wondering if, because they're allowing a free hour of data a day on data clock, if that's a replacement.
