The response/update from 2degrees on eSIM for wearables is deafening.

I guess we are all waiting in the hope that one day 2degrees might (a) provide an update to customers on their plans or (b) actually implement an eSIM wearables solution.

I am waiting for the release of iOS 17.4. After that is available, if 2degrees still does not provide any update or solution then they will have lost yet another customer.

I have just closed and moved one account from 2Degrees. Will likely move the other five I look after too.

Would rather pay more and give my money to a different (likely just as greedy) corporation.

I will be joining you on the 8th March if there is no update from 2degrees. Like a lot of companies, they only care about new customers not retaining existing customers. Not that I expect Spark or One NZ to be any better, but at least they provide the ability to use a cellular watch.

Apple have released iOS 17.4 RC this week, so most likely to be released late next week to meet the EC requirements. However there is no sign of WatchOS 10.4 RC. My understanding of how cellular is enabled on Apple Watch is that it requires an iOS/WatchOS update so for those of us with an Apple Watch we will need to see what WatchOS 10.4 brings once available post-RC release.

Of course there is no guarantee that 2degrees are bringing cellular support with the latest releases.

Interesting.

After upgrading to iOS 17.4 this morning, I received a notification of a 'Service Provider Update'. Could 2degrees be doing things in the background to support Apple Watch?

Also had this (on the watch not on the phone).  I wonder if there is 1 for the phone when it goes live.

WatchOS 10.4 has just been released.

Over to you 2degrees. Got anything to say?

For me this is it, if 2degrees do not release cellular support with these updates I will be going to One NZ like a lot off others have already done.

The silence from 2degrees is now frankly getting stupid.

If there is one thing that I have learned from my lifetime working with customers, it's that an answer that gives an honest, "we're not making much progress, but will update you in a few [hours/days/weeks/months]" is far preferable to radio silence. Followed by the promised update in a few [whatevers].

A bit of honesty and openness goes a long way.

Totally agree. Keeping a customer 'informed' even if you really don't have much of an update goes a long way. In the absence of information, a customer (well anyone actually) will make up their own update.

What was it that 2degrees said to another poster "eSIMS are very new technology".

Spark released eSIM for wearables back in late 2019 I think, so obviously "very new technology" :)

This, this 100%.

Especially when more than 1 rep has been tagged in this thread in the last few weeks alone... ( @SaskiaDonnell - @Pwner - @aspired )

@SaskiaDonnell last posted in here 27th October last year that makes it 19 weeks since an update or anything at all.

We are now 18% or almost 10weeks into 2024 and still nothing....

I must praise 2Degrees on one thing though; They have made it incredibly easy to advise and recommend to friends and family to avoid 2Degrees as a retailer of anything.

Must be easier to resell a service provided by another provider. Maybe we could ask 2degrees to become a reseller of One NZ's eSIM for Wearables solution :)

Have now moved to One NZ. Was relatively painless and now have an Apple Watch with a cellular connection in time for the weekend.

Good Luck everyone. I hope 2degrees finally implement a solution for you all at some point in the future.

I know I am only 1 customer so 2degrees haven’t lost a huge amount of monthly income but they should take a look at what is happening to news media and realise what happens when you don’t innovate and just sit around hoping things will change.
