McGee:

That would actually be funny if it wasn't for the fact that a 4 minute video is taking more than 20 minutes to buffer!!! Yell

At home, my router connects at 12 Mbps.  At work, the router connects at about 10 Mbps - both ADSL.  Home=Snap, Work=Telecom.

This video at 720p takes about 1:08 to fully buffer on Telecom, which is similar to what I was seeing on Xnet.  On Snap, I gave up after about 20 minutes and only a fraction had buffered.

I use Youtube a lot to listen to music that's a bit different and used to enjoy it.  Now I can't, my fun has gone.  I'm so regretful about moving to Snap and will be seeing if I can move back to Xnet, because Snap is utter crap for the stuff I do.  I'm feeling duped.

I'm at work now, and this video may have cached from my attempts at home, but just look for more of the Fink Meter Sessies and try them at 720p.

I just tested that video at home and it burst loads 1/4 first fine and didn't have any issues.
If I skip through the video it bursts again a chunk then trickel loads which is fine.

What DNS servers are you using ?

McGee: What DNS servers are you using ?

202.37.101.1 & 202.37.101.2 as set by Snap's DHCP server.

I tried a few of their videos to get a rough benchmark.
Most of them had less than 50,000 views.

Performance seemed to be normal though.

Can you do this on yours to see what speed they are loading at ?

Speed test and youtube have nothing to do with each other.

OK, so I get home from work just now and try again and those videos are working great!  So why was this so bad yesterday and so good today?  I don't know the answer to that, but I think I should see what happens over the next few days before I throw my toys out of the cot.

Thanks for all the help folks - I will report back over the next few days.

EDIT: Here's the speed image

Ignore the dropped frames, that's the poor video card in my laptop.
