this seems to be not a whole better than I get now on ADSL2+
Downstream (VDSL2) 17.6 - 24.2 Mb/s
Upstream (VDSL2) 7.2 - 11.7 Mb/s

yes ok the upstream 7 x more than ADSL2+ but that downstream estimate seems bad for VDSL2

I think that's just the estimate he's seeing from snap signup page (you put in your address and it estimates what you ADSL2 and VDSL speeds might be) - I think these are very conservative estimates.

I would be interested in what other people who have been connected got on these estimates and then the actual speeds they are seeing.

IHMO the upload speeds are the real benefit of VDSL though.

Yeah they are quite - I have a mate on vdsl it estimates more or less the same as above but really gets 40mbit / 10mbit. Wish i could get that at my house >.>

Im getting under my estimate at the moment but when I get around to it will change the socket and then log a ticket for chorus to look at it. Still am getting 9 up as a sync speed but it never achieves anywhere near it.

What was your estimate on the snap sign up page? I've plugged in a mates address that I know is within 50 metres of a cabinet and it still comes out with something like 21-23mb down...

Mine says 18-19 for VDSL2 on the snap page, but someone from another ISP plugged my address into a chorus(I think) tool and came back with an estimate of 25-30 and they indicated that even that (25-30) was conservative in their opinion, lol

18.8 - 20.1 Mb/s down and 8.3 - 10.6 Mb/s up is what they say. Im syncing at 15128 and 9744, see about 6 uploading to backflip, not really stressed the download as I cocked up and burned thru my 25 gigs in a day.

6 megabit uploading with one connection?

In Windows you have to adjust tcp/ip settings to get better upload speeds internationally probably. (linux autotunes for servers rather than desktops and so doesn't really need tweaking)

You can check if ctcp is enabled with:
c:\> netsh int tcp show global

And enable with:
c:\> netsh int tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp
(as administrator normally)

quite low as I'm only 6~7 hundred meters away from the cabinet

down stream is 8db and up is 0.5db

DLM should take about 10 days to go through all it's profiles to find the best one. Once that's complete, you should find that your sync rates and throughput improve. I see your order completed on the 3rd, so it should be pretty much all go by the 13th!

Ralph, can you definitely confirm that DLM is ONLY active for the first 10 days after a new connection? From what I've read, for most other providers around the world, DLM is an ongoing process...

The line was never delivering what it should have for adsl either but ive beeb too lazy/busy to look into it. Will do soon bit its inorganic in beach haven this weekend so will be carting junk to the curb all weekend. Finally get rid of the dead crt screens ;)
