Bhavicp: Are there actually any residential ISP's providing IPv6 in NZ yet? I would think that's still several years away.. (Even though it really should here be *right now*)
sbiddle:
As for right now - why? The demand for IPV6 is very, very low.
BarTender: I don't know of any LFCs that offer the second or any additional ONT Ports for other RSPs.
So if you wanted an additional broadband connection then the LFC would typically install another ONT and provide service that way.
It's not to say that the ONTs technically couldn't provide service via the additional UNI Ports on the ONTs, but the northbound systems haven't been built to support it. If NorthPower, UFF, Enable or Chorus have provided such services via their online BSS services.

There are a few, and have been for maybe a good 3-4 years now.

I don't know about Chorus but UFF certainly offer this as an option. The only requirement is the services on the same ONT have to be from the same product family (e.g. no mixing BS2 with BS3).
gished: Has anyone figured out what traffic shaping/prioritization is in place for Myrepublic? I'm not a huge downloader by any stretch, but if I want something, I don't want to have to wait some godawful amount of time to get it.
sbiddle:
If you don't know what the status is with Spark and their voice solution and ONT then maybe you shouldn't be making comments on their service.
Ultra Fibre® 30 Unlimited Data and home phone
This option comes with a landline and a phone number as well as your broadband. The landline connects you to the public phone network so you can make local, national, international and mobile calls from your home phone. Your home phone service runs on our standard copper wire network.

There's supposed to be no traffic shaping. And to be honest, even if there was some heavy prioritization QoS, you're not going to get any 'bad speeds' right now. They have little users so most likely have like 99% free bandwidth.

NonprayingMantis:
As a result, MyRepublic local network capacity is consistently more than what our customer base requires.
(I would expect all ISPs in NZ to do this anyway)

Yes, I don't know the technical details. But I know they don't offer voice on the ONT for their residential offer. You have to have legacy copper to get a phone.
I know the status. Regardless of whether they've managed a test call in a lab, they don't have it "working" as far as the public is concerned.
Did I say anything incorrect? Did I say anything misleading? According to all the public statements from Telecom I could find, they have no customers working on an ONT ATA, and the current residential offer makes it quite clear they don't use the ONT for voice.

You are a funny guy. If that happened, nobody would be complaining about speeds here, but I see countless complaints about speeds (especially peak times) in NZ, from customers of multiple NZ ISPs.
