Apple have just released an iOS 17.6 beta and WatchOS 10.6 beta. There’s a chance - just a chance - that this beta could include the changes required to support 2degrees cellular. My understanding, is that Apple need to include the required changes to support cellular providers in iOS and WatchOS.

Will have my fingers crossed for everyone.

I only have the 1 connection with them now (my main number as its attached to a phone i am paying off).  However, I only use that to hold my number now on the lowest plan i can.  I have data running from a rocket mobile connection now.  Once September comes around, I will move off 2d to a telco that supports what I am after and doesn't just keep saying "soon". Soon is not 3 years.

I see 2degrees are advertising that you can buy the new Samsung Watch7 series through them Mobile Phones & Devices | Shop the Latest Phones | 2degrees but you still cannot connect it via an eSIM. That's a fail that continues.

Still silence from 2degrees as to when eSim for wearables is happening...

Very disappointing. Also which “new year” the rate 2d is going it could be 2027 you’re talking about.

2024, I assure you.

Yet another broken promise. I've lost count in this thread.

Perhaps they are waiting on 6G to be a thing before launching it?

Or that all the customers wanting a wearable eSIM have migrated to another service provider so that they don’t have too

I do wonder if part of the radio silence is to do with having seen many customers nove off to another provider and a perception that maybe the demaind isn't there in sufficient numbers for their focus to shift from other projects.

That would be an incredibly short-sighted approach but quite possibly an explanation. If they have seen a significant move away from 2degrees then they may defer any implementation until they can align it with a marketing push.

Doesn't make sense really. Firstly they are a mobile phone company and lastly how are the other Companies like Spark managing it?

He is talking about Apple.
Before a telco can release eSIM for iPhones etc. Apple needs to approve the release and that the telco has set it up as per Apple spec (both phone and wearables) apple also has other funny demands like you can not lhave other wearables launch with eSIM at the same time and it’s an apple exclusive for three months as an example.

This looks like it will be an watchOS 11 and ios18 thing then which is September. Unless it’s in 17.6 but 17.6 release is only a few days away and I’m sure we would have been hearing something by now.

The release of iOS 17.6 is currently at Beta 3 so probably about 3 weeks away from general release.
