networkn:
are you with snap? or vodafone?

I am with VF for my business Internet, and Unleash at home, but for some reason my youtube comes from Snap's cache servers, and I still have many instances even as recently as a week ago, ~6 months after the first people started discussing the issue here and in other forums, where my youtube videos buffer at dialup speeds, despite having a 70Mbit VDSL connection.

We do believe this issue is resolved now. note networkn, the cache that sits with Snap feeds many ISP's however we don't believe there was an issue with locally cached videos. as you will have seen in the forums this issue only affected certain users, many people were reporting no problems and it did come down many different things including last mile access, modem type, MTU etc. networkn we would recommend that you log a fault with your ISP if you are experiencing issues. any videos not cached will go out through your ISP's international transit or through other dedicated links to other Youtube CDN's, for example Equinix.

On a similar note Snap's caching infrastructure also feeds almost all University's and academic institutes in New Zealand, you can see some stats here http://weathermap.karen.net.nz/node.php?src=anx3-chc&dst=61-anx3-chc-snap-google
There were no issues reported from these users, nor across any fibre access. it did just affect a subset of DSL users.

However because some of the issues can be at the client end we do ask that if you are experiencing problems please call our helpdesk and they can run through your settings!

Thank you. That is really helpful.

Waiting to hear back from Vodafone this Monday. If no reply, snap will have one more customer!

My YouTube performance was really great for the past month or so but just recently videos are coming down real slow again and having to buffer. Anybody else too?
