Just want to chime in saying that all my family have now moved away from 2degrees mobile because of call quality issues. I'm still remaining on them due to data sharing but as soon as this stops I'll also be moving my mobiles away - thanks 2degrees for making this easy by matching your competitors plans...

The fact this is trivial to diagnose (refer back to my comment here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=85&topicid=283864&page_no=16#2753592) speaks to me they simply don't care about this issue or there are other problems that have not been communicated to customers such as perhaps old equipment running voice soon to be replaced with Nokia Ericcson equipment as part of their 5G upgrade.

But either way the lack of communication has caused many people I know to move away.

I was also sent an exit questionnaire today by 2D and made it clear again the reasons we'd moved after 10x loyal years. I know at least 6x more people that have moved recently for the same sound quality issues.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Ericcson is the company installing 5g.

I let all my sims with them lapse. Will get new ones from vodafone at some stage when I next want to sell something so not use my real numbers.

Even if VoLTE was enabled (I am in a VoLTE area) it doesn't fix the voice quality issue... that is still as terrible as ever.

I am still at a loss as to why a serious telco would still have this issue after all this time. There has to be a commercial decision for this to be.

Just had my first VoLTE call and I thought it sounded markedly better than when done over 3G between carriers

VoLTE is now showing in Hamilton - with HD calling.  Sounds great :)

Can confirm VoLTE is working in ChCh.

Bonus points my 2degrees test sim shows VoLTE on a unsupported device(Xiaomi Poco F3).

Xiaomi Users may rejoice.

The only thing to note is this doesn't solve the cross-network call quality issue. 2degrees to Spark for example is still terrible.
