Don’t even think we’ll see it this year. 2degrees can’t keep a single promise anymore.

This is why myself, and it seems many others, moved to a different provider. I gave up at the earlier in the year that 2degrees would ever deliver.

I am one of the many others, and I too left 2degrees when I stopped believing they were going to deliver this. It’s not great to be last to implement but it’s appalling to be last by such a vast chasm of months.

Unless 2degrees magically release eSIM support in the next few weeks, I would assume that they are waiting until Apple releases the next Apple Watch range (mid-September normally) so that can 'proudly' state that they now support eSIM on Apple Watch.

However, I would not hold on to any hope. If you want eSIM support for wearables, choose a different provider unless you really want to stay with 2degrees.

People thought 2degrees would do this last year though.

It's now officially more than 2 years since 2degrees announced support for eSIM in phones (5 Aug 2022) and still they do not support wearables or provide any communication if they ever will.

That's an anniversary you DO NOT want to celebrate.

michaelmurfy:

What I do have a problem with is when they don’t listen to their customers either when they introduced plans with sharing (oh, but “unlimited”) or screwed around with prepaid data sharing or even now when we get total silence…

Can I ask about data sharing please?

I have a boat load of data on a month plan that's built up (does this expire after a year or just keep growing?)

I'm looking to move my daughter from skiny to the cheapest monthly $8 prepay deal and then share my data with her.
Is this something that works reliably, and any gotchas to look out for?

Seems simple but as above, 2 degrees does rather have a history of zero support etc...

@Jaxson not related to this thread but all the information you require is on the 2degrees website.

Yes it is very reliable and very easy to setup from the 2degrees App. You should not need any support as it just works

Data sharing via the app is easy. Once she is on a 2d plan/sim open the app and share to her number. You can set limits per month, a 1 off share etc. you just need to be on a carryover plan etc. I have also never had an issue sharing to just a 2d prepay sim that I have never topped up. You can also see how much she has used etc.

When they don't screw with it...

But off topic here.

Thank goodness for the hardworking folks at 2Degrees, they have been working hard behind the scenes after all! They are "enhancing Voicemail" for us... FML Is Voicemail still even a thing?

Anyway, coming up to TWO years since the press release on the 22nd Aug 2022 advising "the next step is making eSIMs available on wearable devices”

Does anyone know if the TAB are taking bets we will here anything before the two years is up?

Any advice from the 2Degrees folk, or shall I finally give up and move my other connections elsewhere....

Clearly I can't comment on anything that isn't public, and neither can anyone else, sorry. eSIM on wearables is being worked on. As for voicemail, well, I don't use it either (and I'm the architect responsible for it). But there are plenty of people who do so we need to do normal service lifecycle work on it from time to time.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.
