Well after being promised we would not be charged for Quickflix usage we received a bill of $44.00 for overage charges.

I called them up and they checked the notes from my earlier call to them where they said they would not charge the excess usage due to this problem. They put in a request for this amount to be credited back.

Then today my flatmate (the a/c holder) gets an email saying the request has been denied due to us not providing the email address the Quickflix account is registered too, we need to provide the email address and then they will resubmit the credit request. They never asked for it during the 2 earlier calls.

What a lot of hassle to go thru over something that was not meant to be charged for in the beginning.

Needless to say I will not be signing up with Orcon when I get my own place.

If my case is anything to go by you will not even get the credit. I am sick of ringing requesting a credit for overcharge. To be fair it may turn up on my account next billing cycle but I would like to know in advance and either receive a credit note for the amount or be able to see it online before it gets to next billing cycle.
I want to be an Orcon customer but they are just not playing the game. Being owned by a Crown SOE or whatever Kordia is one woujld expect that they would pay a bit more attention to their accounting systems. Wonder if they are subject to Goverment Auditors I woujdl imagine they are. maybe a quick note to them would get desired action

Just an update on my account woes. Despite two telephone calls to Orcon where they promised me that they would get a credit issued I now have received an email from orcon's credit manager pointing out that I still owe them that amount. Despite paying my bill and only leaving the disputed amount owing they obviously have done nothing.
Rang then again this morning and the call centre person says yes we can see you gave disputed this amount and we sent a note to our accounts Dept but despite the two previous calls nothing has happened. They promise to ring back and never do.
The call answerer has promised he will get back to me but of course the last two said that. Honestly if I ran a business where staff promise a customer something like a call back and do not carry it out they should be looking fior new jobs.
