2DegreesCare: Hi guys,

I can confirm it's a COW (cell on wheels).

We've got 7 of them dotted around the country at the following sites -

Matamata
Cambridge
Blenheim (3 sites)
Picton
Cromwell

These give more of our customers access to mobile broadband around New Zealand.

Cheers

can I assume that as I am in a 2degrees cell site area it is in a 2degrees  data zone area or is switched of until announced etc?

Yes, as long as you're actually on the 2degrees network broadband zone packs will work. We don't announce them as BB zones until the work is finished though, because the effective coverage borders will move around while the RF guys are optimising it. So, go ahead if you like, but YMMV.

Im in leamington just over the bridge from the 2degrees cell tower, its been active for a while now, ive been using it on a 2degrees MBB stick and have had no problems, i can even get the signal from the raceway in taylor street.  Has a reasonable range, although would like to see another one out towards the high school way to extend the coverage
