Is an English Man living in New Zealand. Not a writer, an Observer he says. Graham is a seasoned 'traveler" with his sometimes arrogant, but honest opinion on life. He loves the Internet!.
I have two shops online allshop.nz patchpinflag.nz

DravidDavid: When I said it was cheap, I simply meant in comparison to other service providers they were cheaper. You might be paying 180 with someone else such as Telecom for the same service. Slingshot can't help that the Chorus equipment in your area is not the best equipment available, but both of these things are beside your point.
Slingshot let you know via the internet that you are over due. If you go two months over due, you get suspended and your connection is temporarily shut off. If in 10 days payment is not received a final letter is sent saying it will be disconnected in 7 days. Not to mention all the automated phone calls, texts and emails they also send out in between the online notice and final demand letter.
The notification might be a bit tacky and has no class (not even sure how an over-due notice is supposed to have class) but it only shows up once per hour if I'm not mistaken. You have the power to fix it at any time by paying the amount that is over due or the entire amount.
As far as I know, power shop is a pre-paid service? There are pre-paid services out there for broadband. Alternatively you can pre-pay your Slingshot account before the bill comes in. The account will go in to credit and the system will take it out of the existing credit. If the credit runs out, the bill is sent to you with the remaining and you pay that.

The only problem I see is if you then resell that service, or provide free wifi to your customers, eg in a cafe shop or motel. Then all their customers would probably also get that message, which doesn't look good for the company.
This is a problem why exactly? If anything it is a benefit since it encourages the cafe or moel to pay their bills on time. They don't like it when their customers don't pay, so why would they expect slingshot to be any different.
