it's been like this for a couple of weeks. I rebooted my router and the last game had no DC, so not sure if that has helped or not.

Get him to check the ping meter when he's having issues - its a little bar top right, and see if it's fluctuating much.

Also you can dial into your router's web interface and check the bytes sent/received when he's having issues to see if there much other traffic going through - LoL should only consume 1-5 kilobytes per sec.

Just so you know, the high latency has returned now - thought I'd wait several days when it came back to see if it was just temporary, but has been like this for quite a few days now.

High latency seemed to be fixed soon after I made the previous post, was just waiting a few days to make sure it didn't come back - seems to be fine now thanks Snap!

Traceroutes to would be good :)

Potentially a less than optimal routing path.

Ugh this has been digging my head in, my flatmate has been experiencing high pingspikes making the game almost unplayable, I have almost tried everything on my end but also think it's on Snap's end.

*Sad Panda*

Edit: Since I don't play this, anyone know of any servers I can load up in Smokeping and track the latency  It seems that all the servers can't be pinged.

It's not just league, its across all west coast US servers, averaging around 250 (normally 170-190~)

I used to get 120-130 ms with orcon in chch, but ~200 ms with snap and also intermittent increased in game lag. I hope you can sort this out.

Also twitch.tv is laggy as balls now :( can't even watch 480p streams when I used to watch the exact same stream on 1080p

I find twitch.tv sometimes works nicely with 720p and at other times I can get video problems with a 480p stream, all within the same weekend.  This is more a bandwidth / quality of data issue than a latency issue though.
