While we're asking for things to stop, how about all those txts? I can't remember exactly what I get, but there are multiple texts around bills. Your bill has been emailed, your bill has been paid -I know that, I check my email and I have it set up on direct debit for a reason, so I don't get bothered by it!!!

Between that and poor coverage in Wellington, Ohariu valley especially, Vodafone is looking more attractive... except on 2deg you get double the minutes (which I actually use), and they cost more. I guess you should expect to pay more for a better service.

I was on Vodafone's old plan with 3gig data, I think 60mins any time any network, 2500 texts, and some PXTs (like, 5? Or 10?). I had one best mate too.

Total plan cost was about $45 a month.

I looked at 2degrees, and when Vodafone called me to offer me a great saving of around $3 a month for 250MB data, 100mins, and 1000 texts, I told them I was actually planning to move to 2degrees $19 prepay as soon as my contract ends next month.

They asked if they could work out a plan for me and call back- I said yes, and two working days later they called with the following.

$20 a month
12 (edit) month (/edit) contract (not 12 years... whoops!)
1000 texts any network
100 mins any network
1.25gig data
1 Best Mate any network with 1000 min and 1000 texts

The drop in texts has no effect on me, the drop in data too (until I get my Galaxy Note 2, then I may regret it).

Just thought I'd put it out there, that Vodafone, who call or spam text me maybe once every three months, and have probably the best network of the three, are getting very competitive. Now's a good time to take advantage of that.

b0rg:
12yr contract

I hope that's a typo and it was a 12 month not 12 year contract you signed up to!

Vodafone coverage in Ohariu valley for 3G doesn't look to good. Check out the map.

I don't have a smart phone, I really just want to be able to call and txt. To be fair coverage is pretty good, but has plenty of spots.

And going to get a lot more competitive.

Hmm. For me with a dual sim phone and don't make a lot of calls, I have my 'normal' sim which is  on two degrees in to receive and make calls, and I have a Vodafone sim in the CDMA slot on the Freebbies plan. I top up vodafone by $20 and get 250MB (plenty for me) and 2500 txts (2400 more than I use), all free. At the end of the month I still have my $20 credit with vodafone. NOW obviously I have to use the credits building up in Vodafone, so I will either use it to make calls (at 49C, $19 would still be 38mins of calls), or buy a $19 pack on Voda with 500MB, 5000 Txts, and 50 minutes.
I feel happier with my data on Vodafone because I have heard that 2 degrees 3G gets slowed down when outside 2 degree areas and roaming on Voda. Is this true?
As I see it at the moment, I might as well be on Vodafone instead of 2 degrees. I just don't want to, or need to transfer my 'normal' number because I have a dual sim phone.
