Working these plans out is a bit like trying to crack the Da Vinci code.

Nah, it's not that bad. It's the whole "Available till " bit that I hate.. tempted to switch to XT, but depends on what 2ds does, etcetc.

(Given I only send a few txt's and a few minutes at most, but lots of data.. ~400-600MB a month)

Just a few points to confirm -

There is no end date with the new Carryover Combo on Prepay Plus, this is a permanent offer.

New customers joining on or since the 14/5 will automatically be on Prepay Plus however they can switch to Prepay Standard - but only once.

Existing Prepay Standard customers can switch to/from Prepay Plus when they want but as above can only swap back to Prepay Standard once.

Customers moving to Prepay Plus keep all their credits and balances on their current Value packs and don't need to do anything to get the new International Roaming rates.

If customers do not have enough credit to renew a Carryover Combo or Carryover Chat pack the pack will go 'on-hold' for a grace period of 14 days. In that time they will not be able to use their accumulated minutes unless they buy a Carryover Chat pack or already have one on their account.

Customers wanting to switch from Prepay Standard to Prepay Plus (or vice versa) can do it by simply texting 'MOVE' to 7526.

Hope that helps.

Hi POB, welcome back.

I'm very confused about one thing - why can we only switch back to Prepay Standard only ONCE?

Are there actually any benefits to Prepay Standard over Prepay Plus that people would want to hold on to?

xpd: Im ignoring it... pretty much if you want to keep your carry over minutes, you have to buy a pack monthly. If I was wanting to do that, Id go on a proper account thanks.

Does anyone have a "proper account" monthly plan that costs $19 and offers 50 mins, all you can text and 500MB (or thereabouts)?

I know that the standard answer will be that you can set an auto-topup to pay for the recurring $19 charge, but I agree that I think there is a market for a $19 "proper" Pay Monthly plan.

From my reading of it and the reason I won't be switching to it, if you use over your 50 minutes, and you have topped up in the last month, old plan will be 22c/minute for landlines & 2 degrees phones, new plan will be 44c/min.

This is exactly what I have set up. Am I prepay? I guess I am, but I am automatically topped up $20 per month and then I buy a $19 combo, so I don't really see the difference.

Thanks Ahmad, yep, we do recommend setting an Monthly Auto-Top-Up the day BEFORE a Value Pack expires to make sure the pack ticks over and you're on the better rates.

We are encouraging customers to choose the plan that suits them the best and leave it open if they find it's not working for them. That being said you won't be able to move freely between the plans from one month to another.

We've no plans at this stage to bring in $19 Pay Monthly Carryover plans.

Cheers

One thing to add, calls to Voicemail will deduct 1 minute from your inclusive minutes (if you have them) on our Carryover Combo, Carryover Chat packs and Standard Prepay $19 Combos.

If you do not have any minutes left charges to Voicemail are 20c.

Cheers

Sounds the same as their prepay plan? I guess since it's called OneBill, I need to have my home phone/internet with them too? I couldn't find it on their website, but I don't really see what the advantage of this is over prepay?

You asked for a "proper" monthly plan. One was presented. Think it does require a telecom account of some required sort but it IS a post-paid plan (as you had asked for).

You get  a form of GST receipt when your fone bill arrives..??  Next year I'm hoping to do a 3 day week and use the Onebill plan so I can get a receipt and claim back at the end of the month rather than the rather wasteful plan I'm on at the moment..

Semantics I guess. I view it more as an add-on to your existing Telecom account, rather than a stand-alone post-paid plan, but whatever. I wonder why they don't offer it stand-alone? I assume for the same reason noone else seems to offer a $19 plan.
