xpd: They are looking into it - Im not due for fibre for another 2 years minimum, so looking at VDSL solutions... Telecom only provider with package that interests me so far, but will hang out a bit longer to see what Orcon offers :)

I went for Snap.
Orcon does not support Faxability or allow customers to have 2 numbers on their VOIP system.
The Fritzbox modem also make the "genius" modem look like a toy.

I dont have faxability (dont know anyone who does tbh), and the Genius can (in theory) deal with two lines, but it isnt available for some reason, but for a standard home user, 2 lines is a rarity. With Go available, it essentially gives you a 2nd line anyway :)

Ive looked at Snap but the pricing is the killer for me.

We are what they call a "Blended Family", so with Faxability we were both able to keep our old phone numbers and we and the kids both knew who the call was for. It has become so much part of our lives that we hate the idea of loosing it even though we have been together for 10 years and the kids have pretty much grown up and left home.

Quite apart from the fact the aggravation of changing information with banks, lawyers, accountants, etc etc etc was all "too hard", so we keep the 2 numbers.

On the plus side, I dont have to answer to phone when its her mum calling Wink

Any updates or clues as to how far Orcon are off announcing a launch date would be appreciated?
Less than a month?
Less than 2 months?
By Christmas?

Would be informative.

'At some point' is less helpful and suggests I shouldn't wait.
