and what proofs do you have of this? does there happen to be a certain direct link your trying to load?

considering im able to freely max my line on single threads, http traffic included, you may be dealing with another issue all together.

all not currently connected connections will freeze up, like when you try to run programs with not enough ram on a PC, they just wait and then eventually they all load at once. The thing is the service is patchy. It will be fine for half a day and then just refuse to co-operate

any chance this happens at peak times? possible your on a coklin cabinet?

a quick look at http://www.chorus.co.nz/maps will give you some insight to it, but ralph will be able to tell you for certain what cabinet, etc.. report should point out any issues on your connection in-which i suspect is the case.

I'm in Invers, SNAP, with ADSL2+.

I watch 360-480p all the time with no hassles (I've just come from watching clips online). I have this PC I'm using limited to 3Mbps through my router too and can watch a 360p on my iPod at the same time.

Make sure you're running the lastest flash player too. How are you off CPU usage wise during playback?

Not using Wi-Fi?

I'm not on the all you can eat. I used to be and had buffer problems when YouTube or Adobe changed how the video was delivered last year when you pause it, the buffer would pause too (it never used to and it would fill as fast as it could go). Now it buffers a little and stays ahead but not too far ahead and pauses the buffer when you paused (as it should in my opinion). I switched the all you can eat off last year and haven't been bothered to put it back on since.

Check you're not maxing out your upstream too anywhere, doing that can cause downstream performance to drop down significantly - the nature of asymmetric Internet.

I think it might be what kiwirock said with the upload, will have to wait for ralphs diags to be done either way. Got to talk with the property manager about getting fibre

yep, upload saturation is horrid, its one of the main reason i went with vdsl originally.. must admit though, im partial to the speed now lol..

if your able to get fiber, go for it!

I'm a few doors from VDSL and Fibre grrr. I expect to be moving in the next 8 months and the future property must have one or the other.
