As the title says I've been getting terrible youtube performance and other than the new youtube player pissing me off with the auto detail selector being twitchier than a drug addict in withdrawal, I cannot for the life of me watch a video in anything higher than 240p without it stopping to buffer.

Now correct me if i'm wrong but snap has a youtube cache for their unmetered youtube(which I'm paying for).

Up until some time this year I was perfectly fine with 480p though I could and would on occasion watch in 720p with no problems.

I'm looking into multiple fronts and trying to get to my flatmates PCs to look if they have any 'bandwidth intensive' programs going all the time (but I doubt it because gaming is unaffected) so any invercargill responses would help with narrowing my search before I bother with the call centre

the youtube cache sometimes acts up, generally, refresh the page and it will hit the cache and come at line speed.

I've recently experienced very poor YT performance as well. I'm in Wellington on a fibre connection with no one else online.

I have been watching 720/1080p videos quite a bit recently and have noticed no issue apart from when I am hammering my media server with transfers.

Auckland, Snap ADSL.

Are you using Snaps DNS servers?

What about on the PC as that overrides whatever your modem hands out

That should be fine then, unless the DNS service on the modem/router has crashed

Have you tried turning it off and on again? No seriously have you?
