I'm leaning towards a low MTU setting on their BNG causing this to happen, hence why changing ISP works for people, this would cause some websites to not display.

The issue is with slingshot. They cannot provide me anything but ADSL1 from the cabinet in the apartment complex I'm living in.

This is not Slingshot, it's Chorus and the fact there's an old ASLAM in your apartment building which likely won't get upgraded. You should talk to the building owner about this, not Slingshot.

Changing ISPs has fixed the problem for a lot of people because the issue at the moment with BUBA is causing havok on Slingshot's network for some reason. Whether or not Slingshot are looking in to a fix for BUBA customers still or not is another story. Your ADSL1 problem has nothing to do with the BUBA problem unless you are on BUBA.

Contact your building manager regarding the ADSL1 situation. You should be able to receive a 2+ connection in the city without a problem.
