It sure is weird, I'll give enable call in the morning see what's going on.

Good to know they return to a decent state.

I'll let you know if I find out anything useful.

The Civil guy came over this morning and he's still here now (thanks to our stoney garden).

Just spoke to enable and by the looks of it the install is going ahead tomorrow. There are a few final things which need to be done to get the Lincoln fibre online, but that should be completed by mid-morning tomorrow.

More confusion -

Just had a ph call from Downer/Enable tech to do the install, but said when they tried to blow the fibre from the box, it was no go, there is damage somewhere in the pipe from the box, that doesn't sound like good news.

Told him I was unaware of the install to begin with as Snap had told me it was on hold, even when I spoke to them on Monday afternoon.

Seems to be a case of chinese whispers with no clear lines of communication open between Snap, enable and their contractors. Not stressed about it, but the issue with the pipework is concerning

That happen to me today too as first time they try to feed the fibre from exchange box, but once the tech back out the fibre and changed to other head/cap on the end fibre went through without problem.
With that said, becuase I was the very first one on the fibre exchange box, both exchange box and ONT took a little longer to get connection through.

I am now online with Snap Fibre

also here is a speedtest after a phone call to Snap resetting profile before that I was only getting 27Mb down
speedtest UFB

sen8or, My neighbour had the same problem, you may be my neighbour.

We're all up online mid afternoon yesterday, as with D1NZ the change and ONT took awhile to update, 3 hours I think.

Managed to get 10.5MB/s down from my server in California (Multi Threaded Download).

lulz, I thought your avi was familiar, but couldn't place it.

snap adsl set up for now.
Speedtest done, 8.7mbps
ping 51ms
pretty similar to Vodafone

wireless coverage from the Fritz is better than our previous vodafone box, my daughters bedroom at the far end of the house could not previously get youtube on her ipod (not necessarily a bad thing with how much data it uses) but now she can. All you can eat youtube from snap will be worth every penny.

media server duties look ok so far, taking a while to load up media from the USB HDD, but can be found by the TV in the lounge, so so far, so good.

just have to wait now and see what enable come back with in regards to getting the fibre up our driveway

sen8or: Ph call from Snap today, enable gave them false information, UFB isn't yet available,e, will be a few weeks still. Disappointing but not snaps fault

Haha, so Enable came out to do the scope, and the installer did not know that the fibre wasn't there/isn't ready.

Sounds like enables right hand needs to meet enables left hand and get their stories straight.

True but civil part of the job can be done first anyhow because civil work it's 2nd visit final (3rd visit) visit it's when they feeding fibre though and connect everything up.
For me my installation was only got pushed back by 2 days so not that bad I would say.

Enable turned up again this morning to sort out issues with getting fibre up the drive.

Is good to know that things are happening in the background and enables processes seem fairly sound in regards to problem resolution.

Another call from Enable today, tech booked Weds afternoon.

Really have to hand it to them, their job log systems seems to be pretty good, notes were up to date as to what had happened and where the job was at.
