Email inquiry sent through Snap website Friday / Saturday to get a date for UFB Install. Snap website had been changed from "end of September" to coming soon (not a good sign I thought).

Email received from Snap about lunch time today, saying initially enable had our area as due "within 3 months" however, they inquired directly and were told "October".

About 1 hour after receiving email from Snap, received ph call from them, to be updated with UFB is available NOW. Enable website has also been updated as UFB available now. Went through sign up process over the phone, very painless experience.

30/10 plan
24 months
7390 Fritzbox
100gb base data
All you can eat youtube (2 x ipods absolutely chew through the data on youtube, amazes me)
$80 per month

With the all you can eat youtube, 100gb should be enough, but even if I have to buy another 100gb block, will still be under $105/mth that we are currently on with Vodafone.

Service so far from snap has been top notch I thought, lets hope the local installers continue, will update when there's action.

I got a tweet this afternoon letting me know its available in Lincoln.
I'm quite excited, they're hoping to do my install (in Lincoln too) this Friday.

From my experience, Snap have been the best ISP with costumer service.

Good Luck with the install.

Does anyone know when LIGHTWAVE HOME DELUXE plan will be released.

Im going to try LIGHTWAVE HOME but not sure if upload will be quite enough. Can you upgrade to higher speed plan during the 12 month contact.

Tech turned up at about 1pm, initial scope done.

We live up a right of way (not shared but drive goes between 2 other properties), no issues though. They are unable to use the existing conduit as this is Chorus's property, so they will be trenching up a stoned garden. Top of the drive is concrete and would require burrowing under to get fibre from one corner to the house. Risk of damage was minimal, but too much, so have agreed to take a different route, with fibre coming in one of the bedroom wardrobes, up through the roof to the garage to the patch panel.

All positive still

@sen8or
Great to hear, they came over to my house today, but yet to find out what the deal is, as I was out.

@bbunnys
Not sure about the Lightwave Deluxe plan, it's been on their site for about a month now. Maybe Ralf from Snap will see this topic, or give them a call?

Yeah, I've been looking at that mid range plan too, but nothing in weeks on price or availability.

Fritzbox turned up yesterday, went the 7390 for dualband wifi. Not sure I will need the 4 gigabit ports, but better to have them and not need them than the other way round

Re Fritz.. Be pepared to spend another $40-70 on a good Ubiquity AP to extend the range depending on its end location.

Many, including myself finding the wireless on them is actually rather poor if it is a few rooms away. I purchased an Ubiquity that covers the whole house and outside instead :)

Was hard choice between the extra for dual wifi vs the 2 port and a nice GB switch.. kind of glad I didn't spend the extra now.

Hi guys

The Lightwave Deluxe pricing is not too far away, we are just waiting for Chorus to make that profile available for us before we announce it. They believe it should be ready within a few weeks.

Cheers
Ralph

Haha, so Enable came out to do the scope, and the installer did not know that the fibre wasn't there/isn't ready.

Sounds like enables right hand needs to meet enables left hand and get their stories straight.

Sounds familiar... theres a few threads here about the difference between the area checks on ISP vs Chorus vs the project teams paperwork *sigh*

Like rolleston, the infrastructure has been there for some time. ISPs say yes, Chorus map still says 10mbps only

yep, painful but at least Snap kept me informed which is pretty much all I could expect given they were provided false information to begin with.

Still reckon the civil team could come do the prep work getting the fibre conduit to the house, so that when all is good to go, its one less step needed, but I suppose given its not yet live, they can't do anything

Just spoke to Snap trying to figure out what was happening, as I wasn't there to receive the call last week.

Now the install this Wednesday is back on, as Enable has given them the go ahead for Lincoln. Still a little confused but sounds good to me.

hmm, weird.

Civil guys turned up to our house today and put the conduit in place from the road up to our house, followed plan exactly and restored stone garden and wifes rose / flowe garden "as was" (or pretty close). Pipe now outside waiting on final piece of the puzzle.

Just spoke to Snap re your comments migrif, they didn't seem to know anymore, but would follow up with enable.
