Hi guys

Sorry for the delay in posting. Am starting to build a new PC, so am a bit distracted.

Still having international bandwidth issues.

I haven't been able to tease out my gateway information out of pfsense, but doing a traceroute shows 1.65.69.111.dynamic.snap.net.nz (111.69.65.1) as my first hop. (And no, that is not our IP address.)

Mine local (within NZ) and Aus speedtest all hitting my line speed 100/50
LA Dreamhost test looks fine also.

What router are you using? maybe try another router?

What router are you using? maybe try another router?

It's an older (Core 2 duo era) running pfsense. Our connection has been very good up until now. As stated, speed to local servers can basically max out our line speed (90mbit/s+). It is only international that we are having issues with.

I'll try our old srp527w this evening to ensure there is no issues with pfsense.

On the System Dashboard (the main page) click on the [+] icon below the title and add the gateways widget.
Or go to System > Routing page which should show the gateway for each route that has been setup.

The one generated by the system at installation for me is WAN_PPPOE for me, with a gateway of 111.69.17.16

For some reason I thought this was showing our IP address

. Obviously it is not.

Our gateway address is: 111.69.67.209 (209.67.69.111.dynamic.snap.net.nz)

Have been experiencing slow international as well with Snap on UFB 100/50 in Hamilton. I am on the Snap-185 PoP.

Do whatever you want to do man.

ipv6 aint the root of all evil... nor is it the problem here.

ipv6 can work great on snap infact.

Yes. Gave them a call Friday morning. The very friendly helpdesk guy couldn't help and suggested I send an email with more details. I sent an email that morning and have not hear anything back (yet).

Hi all,

I have a request.

Could somebody please suggest a decent offshore (preferably not Australia) test file (not a "speedtest", an actual file), and even better, tell me what download speeds you are able to obtain for it?

I was able to obtain about 5MB/s today - from four seperate multi-segment downloads from different servers.
