wombus: Am I missing something? I'm too scared to use it now my boss will have a hernia if I continue as it is now. Please Help.

Spend control helps prevent bill shock (and potential hernias). Set it to an amount he'll be happy with and you won't get in trouble. :)

If you need help working out what you used it on please PM us the details, time/date plus your #, account name & number and 4 digit PIN or DOB and address for authentication.

Just a reminder Aussie Data packs do not auto-renew on expiry or depletion so we urge customers to keep an eye on their balances and adding a new one when it's running low.

Checking balances is too easy even when when overseas. Dial *100*1*# to see your balances, it's free even when overseas, or checking Your 2degrees as Salty says.

Regards

If you have satellite imagery turned with Google maps it uses a lot of data.

SaltyNZ: Well, I can look in the morning if you PM me your number, but you'll get an answer much faster if you look in self-care. Self care is free even while roaming, so it won't hurt you to check.

Cheers I have sent you my details

Yep, you got your pack. You just used it all up. You can buy another - you can buy as many as you want, in fact. Go here for self-care, or dial *100*1# on your mobile for a summary of your current balances. Assuming you have a smartphone you can also download the 2degrees app for iOS or Android. The data usage for the self-care website and the app are free.

Note - I see you tried to dial *100. Note, that it has to be either *100*1# (all in one go) or at least *100# (all in one go). *100 would be a voice call (which won't work). *100# or *100*1# is a special service called USSD which will send you a text response.

Omg what I've used 500mb in 2 days I really can't see how? A text telling me I've used up that pack would also have been helpful. Can you please confirm I used all 500mb of my pack

I agree. There should be a SMS alert sent out at about the 80% mark..

I agree an SMS message telling me I'd used my pack would have saved me $20 and would have been exceedingly helpful. Luckily I did check my balance otherwise it could have been much much worse. Somehow I used 500gb in less than a day.. Wow no idea how, I used Facebook and uploaded maybe 10 photos from my iPhone. Checked work emails using the iOS email client, a little web browsing of tourist attractions, and Google maps for driving instructions for a couple of short journeys..
Now I'm 30min a day of hotel lobby fre Wifi for the rest of the holiday.

I got an SMS this morning telling me my Aussie Data Roaming pack has now expired... I have to laugh this info is only a week late it expired when I blew the 500mb of data.

now where can I get 500gb of data for my iPhone? ^^

seriously though, as IOS8 just came out, all my iDevice's have all been going mad over the last three weeks or so with iTunes/App store 'auto update' on.

check settings\itunes for "updates" being switched on, and then settings/mobile for mobile data being ennabled?

you can now actually disable mobile data on a 'per app' level here, and also see exactly what has/is using the data also :)

*edited for typo(s)

I confess I briefly teatherd to my iPad... It was i think iCloud that sucked up my data pack faster than you could chew a mint
