Hi Paul1977

Totally agree. We had hoped to have that sorted when we went live but it got a bit more complex than anticipated, so we're not quite there yet. Hopefully soon.

What you could do is still go ahead and order the 200/200, we can provision as 200/20 now and then once available we'll automatically kick you up to the 200/200 Ultra service. Or if you really need the 50Mbps upload, place the order for 200/200 but ask us not to provision until available, either way you'll get the $10 U/L offer.

We're pushing Enable as hard as we can and the moment they make it available to us we'll be offering it - latest eta is early November.

Cheers
Ralph

Hi kingjj

Happy to try and help here as most of this is publically available, albeit you need to trawl through very exciting Wholesales Services Agreements across 4 providers ;)

100/50 and 200/20 are both priced at $55/m ex GST across all providers.
100/20 is priced at $40+GST over Chorus and $45/m+GST over the other 3 LFCs. The Chorus price rises by $1 every year through to 2020, the other 3 LFCs are flatlined ie no increases. So all providers end up at $45.

We think we've got the mix about right overall but it will be interesting to see which services other providers offer.

Cheers
Ralph

Hi,

I am currently on 100/50 with Ultrafast Fibre through Snap.  Just wondering if your pushing UFF hard as well I would love a 200/50 or 200/100 or god forbid 200/200.  Just think that a 20MB upload is a bit slow for UFB.  Seems like Chorus are onto the ball with at least with their package offerings compared to the others.

Just out of interest what is the reasoning that the other UFC's gave as to only giving 20MB upload? Is the fibre network already looking that constrained in their areas that they need to knee cap the upload?
Looks pretty bad that Chorus is offering a cheaper (as of now) or same priced service with 10x the upload capacity and with others are so far behind...

Thanks,

Mung

Sorry if I've missed this somewhere Ralph, but is it still possible to order a 100/50 plan from Snap? i.e. could one order the 200/20 plan but have 100/50 provisioned instead, since it would be the same wholesale cost? Would love 200/200 but unfortunately we're in an Ultrafast zone...

Must be difficult for you guys consolidating the plans from each of the LFCs, but it looks like what you've selected is definitely the right way to go for most people.

Just been trawling through Ultrafast fibre's website. They mention that the service provider can customise packages.  So using wholesale pricing listed on UFF website agreement looks like $2.7 per 10 Mbps UP EIR and base plan 200/20 $55 for some package like 200/50 ($63.10 Wholesale) 200/100 ($76.60 Wholesale).  Using Snap's current unlimited pricing something around $80-90 above wholesale is normal. Just spit-balling figures I see a rough price indication of retail 200/50 $147.10 and 200/100 $160.6
Those are all just my own rough calculations based on huge assumptions and listed wholesale prices.
Looking at those I can see a definite market for those services.  At those rough idea of prices and knowing my own personal wants and needs I would be keen on the 200/50.

So just wanting to ask Ralph is there any physical "guts" to the possibility of making something like these packages on the Ultrafast Fibre network or is it all just vaporware.

Hi Mungbean and BradC

Things certainly are a bit more complex than when we only had to worry about the original 30/10 and 100/50 offerings!

While in theory we could customise any number of profiles, the complexity that would drive into our business would far outweigh the benefits. Its pretty difficult already with 4 LFCs, offering multiple variations and occassionally different price points.

We spent a lot of time evaluating the various options and thnik that we've come up with a range of plans that will suit the vast majority of users. Hopefully we're right!

In terms of the 200/200 being avaliable in UFF (and Enable) areas, this will happen - all indications are Enable will have in the next week or so and UFF mid to late November.

Cheers
Ralph

UFF differentiate between residential addresses & businesses addresses (e.g. you can't order a plan classed residential at a business address).

I understand the 20Mbps upload on those residential plans is in the mix as a deterrent for business customers and to drive up ARPU.

With UFF, the existing 100/50 along with the new 100/100 and 200/20 all price at $55. Any higher spec speeds command a higher price.

Awesome thanks for you replies Ralph and Jesse.  I may be moving house soon that has UFB available but not yet connected.  If I move can I take my 100/50 account with me or when re-provisioning the new premises am I forced to take the 20 UP plans?

Thanks,

Mung

Hi Mungbean

Hmm, good question! On the basis of you being an existing customer on the 100/50 plan, then if we can't twist your arm to make the move to our AWESOME new 200/20 service, then YES we will allow you to keep your existing 100/50 service at your new property.

Cheers
Ralph

Currently looking at moving into a new place in mid November too so would also be interested to know what the deal is with the unlimited offer.

I just changed from the 100/50 unlimited plan to the 100/20 unlimited. By signing on for another 2 years get the $10 unlimited.

I don't upload much, so I probably won't notice a difference and am saving $44/month (was $139 on 100/50 unlimited, now $95 on 100/20 unlimited).

Ralph - any update on when Enable will go live on 200/200 as I want to move from my 200/20 to 200/200 as soon as possible.
