At long last, have just moved into a new house and been awaiting to get a landline (been on mobile for the last 8 years ) Now have to do a financial balancing act with our mobile accounts, downgrading to make up for the landline, thank goodness for computers

Same... I see UFB up on street but my street is not ready to take application or installation. Plus I got few more months before current Vodafone Cable terms finished - then we'll be re-evaluate the longetivity of Vodafone TV...

And what about transparent proxy?

No, that's not the case; have a look at the other thread linked to in the post above yours.

I and others have commented on the poor advertising of this, though - for example when a current Snap user selects the option to switch plans the only option at least initially is for 30/10 fibre (either 80GB or unlimited), but apparently there is the ability to select all all other speed options up to 200 though it's not obvious where this information is (I'm waiting for someone to explain its location!).

Is VDSL also limited to 30Mbps?

There would be no reason for them to limit VDSL to 30Mbps (some poor souls can't even get up to 30 on VDSL anyway!) - would assume as fast as the line can go.

If nothing has changed from snap, you pay $10 /month extra for a static v4. Once you have it, you can then request a static /56 subnet on v6.

benmurphy66: There own helpdesk seem to have no idea what is going on (trying to get $10 discount loaded). pretty disappointing start to the 2degrees broadband experience. Bring back Snap!

Ex-Snap staff are now 2degrees staff and will be manning the phones so we should not expect any drop in service. There were some earlier glitches with the website that were ironed out but if you still have a query on that we can follow up for you.

Please PM your details including phone and account number so we can look into it.

Looks like you have to pay for a "speed booster" pack to get higher speeds. So I'll assume it is limited to that speed cap.

Also the website seems to be still under construction. I have fiber and says I can only get VDSL. Doesn't really matter to me as I only save $6 if I go through the hassle of switching to the plans that 2DM have setup. Currently paying $155. ($89 unlimited + $50 200Mbps + $10 static IP = $149). Maybe if a Home phone, mobile and internet package deals came out to change my mind.

what madness! I was a click away from changing our Snap ADSL 50GB naked to a new 2Degrees VDSL 80GB plan that I assume will also incur said fee?. How much is it btw?

$249 I think? It's on their website.
You can get around the connection fee by signing a new contract term.
