I have an AC1200 wireless extender and I wanted something compatible with it. When I found that 2degrees offered both modems I phoned to ask which one I would get. When the CSR offered the older model I declined to sign up. That's when she offered the 7490.
Of course I could have simply kept my existing modem but 2dgrees said I had to have one of theirs.
spronkey: Sorry to bring up an old thread, but the 7490 supports wireless AC as mentioned above. No, this won't speed up ADSL, but it will give a *big* speed improvement over the 73xxs for your local wireless network between machines if it's your main wireless AP. If you do any kind of local sharing - files, media, whatever - it's a huge difference.
As that is nothing to do with the internet connection, buy your own hardware that supports the higher speeds if you want it.
Would have to be a VOIP router if the OP wished to use VOIP for voice.
Thats fine, keep their internet router, which is fine for the ASDL speeds and add your own accesspoint with AC for your lan transfers which are nothing to do with the internet.

Kinda ridiculous when Snap used to allow any customer to spend extra to purchase the 7490, not "just VDSL and UFB customers". The Fritz is decent enough for 802.11ac at smaller premises on its own - and I'd say even a cut above most of the cheaper 802.11ac APs you can buy.
If Snap offered a small xDSL modem + VOIP box only, that would make sense. But even the 7360 is huuuge.

That's 2degree's problem to sort out. The OP can't do much more than ask their representative. If they got it wrong, it's certainly not the OPs problem.

Based on this they have to either back up what was offered or void the contract.
It is the ISP's issue to ensure their staff are trained appropriately on sales policy to ensure potential customers are aware of what they will receive as part of the sale.
