I use up my 3GB allocation from Voda (sadly grandfathered plan). Can't even possibly justifying going down

To clear all doubt, this is the response I received on twitter:

"No, 1GB is the total amount you'll receive. It's like we've accelerated everyone to the max! :) ^POB"

So this potentially makes the student bonus pointless and the loyalty bonus... I wonder if there will be anything to fill that gap?

Yep, just to reiterate, students get TIDAL free for 12 months plus 20% discounts on phones and 30% off GoodToGo purchases in 2degrees stores. More info - Student perks

We state that customers on our Student Perk offer do not get the Carryover Bonus as they already get a bonus, see point 4 in Student perks T & Cs as below -

"You will not be eligible to receive any other Carryover Combo Reward offered by 2degrees while you are a member of Student Perks."

Any customer renewing their Carryover Combo between today and the 4th of September 2016 will get this 500MB bonus. :)

Cheers

^POB

PhantomNVD: Best other (useful) news in there is

You can use your Carryover Minutes to call Voicemail and one minute will be deducted for each call you make.

Has been this way at least as long as I've been on the $19 bundle. Very pleased this is the case too!

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Interesting. Is there any downside to prepay on Skinny compared with post-pay on Spark? I always thought of prepay as for people who couldn't get a plan for some reason, and skinny a budget option for students.

Absolutely none that I can see. I have an auto top up on my CC for once the balance gets below a certain amount and that's it. Just as good as postpaid if you ask me. Barely any management required at all for our four accounts.

Some features that are standard on other carriers are not available on Skinny eg call forwarding. Also you don't get the perks of Spark such as free wifi and cheap movie tickets.

It is provided you keep your pack renewing at least once a month. You just have to buy it in that period to be eligible for 1GB per month, every month

Hmm, didn't realise that Skinny has upped their game. I am on 2deg but the coverage where I live is significantly better with Spark. I have asked a number of times for 2Deg to look into this but with no results. I might give Skinny a look...

just cancelled my $29 prepay plan to switch to this combo.

good thing about the 2degrees combo is its actually month to month, so 31 days in may etc, this is important to me as I get paid monthly so will schedule this a few days after pay day.  skinny is only 30 days, which is a PITA IMO.

If I didn't have 10GB of mobile data banked up with 2Deg I'd switch right away. But this is very tempting...

luckily my kid decided it was ok to download updates to games on his tablet without my knowledge and my 8GB has shrunk down to 3GB.  so not that big of a deal, sure I would like to have kept that, but cost wise, saving $120 a year is to good to pass up

With their rollover data, I can't seem to use it fast enough (an awesome problem to have :-)). Currently sitting at 8.8GB, and this is after having to lean on it heavily lately for Internet access (including SVOD), due to sporadic ADSL issues.

Call forwarding is not available on prepaid plans from any NZ carrier anyway. It's exclusively an on-account feature from carriers that offer on-account plans.

Says who? All I've seen so far is that for every $19 combo renewal before 4 September I get an extra 500MB which is pretty sweet. What happens after that? Do I keep getting the 500MB for each renewal after 4 September too?

I use call forwarding regularly on my 2degrees prepaid number. That was actually a major driver for me to move back to 2degrees.
