4 those who are having the issue is it all the time/everywhere. Or only in certain locations. If only in certain locations could be congested paging channels, that would also affect calls/missed calls etc. Or could be that the network thinks you are in a certain LAC/RAC and when being paged for the delivery of the SMS the serving cell is not set up for that LAC/RAC that the network thinks you are in.

Also anyone using iphones and if so if it is not already turn imessage off and see if that makes a diference

I too can also confirm delayed SMS on 2degrees.

I use 2FA for a few sites and sometimes the SMS I need to get, with the 2FA code, never arrive, or are received much later so not ideal when you need to log into a website.

If I try again in a few minutes then the SMS usually arrives straight away.

Just did it now with an Office 365 account, Microsoft sent the SMS and didn't receive it.

Waited a few minutes and told Microsoft to send it again, and this time it came through straight away.

Now I have just received the first SMS that was sent, and it has been about 45 minutes.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

As an update:

2Degrees have got back to me and effectively told me it is my problem.

Either the Phone or SIM!

I will get the phone unlocked from 2D (It is less than a year old on Prepay) and get a Spark or Skinny SIM and see what the result is.

Different network will tell me where the problem is I hope.

Funny that so many people suddenly have "faulty" phones or SIMs.

Also my problems thinking about it only started after they transferred me to Prepay Plus.

Must be a coincidence there somewhere?

Faulty SIM.....

Also, are these delayed SMS usually from the same person, and if so are the delayed SMS more then 160 characters usually.  I'm guessing these devices are Android of the lower spec

Sounds like a delay in the SMS paging message or AK message from the network or handset. If anyone has FB messenger on a device suffering from this, try removing FB messenger and see how that goes.

guessing.....................d04

Different senders. Different locations.

Receiving location can be different.

No "tricky" messaging apps used - only those that were installed on the phone directly for messaging.

Short messages affected.

Phone was meant to be locked - but outside the 9 month $30 fee. Wasn't actually locked :-)

Same phone - New Skinny SIM = Receiving txt's is INSTANT so far!

And faster to send a txt!

Next update:

Sent a swap SIM from 2Degrees.

Done the changeover this morning.

Texts still "slow" to send. But still less than 2 minutes. Sometimes they are very quick. 31 spins of the sending thingy just now!

Receiving is less than a minute but strangely was also less than a minute last night! (Nothing changed at my end.)

Hope it keeps up :-)

This can't be SIM card related end of story! VSMSC logs need to be looked and also radio messages on delayed SMS

Test txt sent at 1915 arrived within the minute!

The missing txt arrived 7 minutes later! (Over 1 1/2 hours)

Both from the same sender.

And 2DegreeCare only seems to "care" on weekdays!

I will have to find out how to get my credit back from 2D for the 3 2D phones we have and change provider me thinks!

No, definitely not just you, though I've been good for a few days now, which isn't exactly unusual, though I don't send or receive many texts.

Friend just told me her daughter txted her to say she was on way home..... 2hrs later the txt arrived, AFTER the daughter was home.

Come on 2D, something is WRONG, it needs to be looked into seriously.
