The offer's fine print is ambiguous, at best.  In particular, it says:
"A successful referral is counted only once the new account is active and the first invoice has been payed in full with Slingshot."

Ignoring the dubious grammer (what does "payed" mean?), does this set of conditions need to be met before the offer expires on 31 May (which is just over 5 weeks away)?

If so, then by my calculations it will take a new customer 3 to 4 weeks to meet the fine print's conditions for a "successful referral" (1-2 weeks to get connected, though it can take much longer, plus 1 week to get the first bill even if it is billed in advance, and an allowance of up to 10 days to pay that first bill).  Therefore, this offer is really only valid for the next week, or maybe 2 weeks at most.

Perhaps that isn't what Slingshot meant, but it appears to be what they've said.

It's being extended to the end of June.  Once the designers arrive in the morning the page will be updated to reflect this.

I think as long as the process is started, the referral counts, but yes - this could be clarified.

Your right the expiry is a bit harsh - so we've extended it to end of June (website will reflect this tomorrow morning).

As for payment of the first invoice.. when you join Slingshot an invoice is generated (broadband services charged are one month in advance for example).

This first invoice must be paid in full.

It is on the customer when they would like to pay, they could do it straight away via credit card, go to the post shop etc etc. As the charges are up front and clearly stated on our signup form, you dont need to wait for an invoice.

Majority of our broadband connections go though in under a week these days - in fact often beating our welcome letters to the customers house !

OK, cool - the end of June is better.

So is there a limit on the number of terabyte blocks to be given away?  This could get expensive for Slingshot.

Slingshot: Hi there,

That's conflicting to the T&Cs on the Terabyte page:

Only one terabyte of data can be applied per account regardless of the number of people referred (minimum 5).

I think you got the wrong answer question.  The question was phrased "So is there a limit on the number of terabyte blocks to be given away? "  And Slinghshot is correct that they have unlimited amount to give away, but only one TB (1024GB) will be added per customer.  So Manhinli is right as you can only get one TB packet.

The extra data for the person joining is also a nice off, so it's a double win and not exploitation of ya mates.

**UPDATE**

As this trial was such a success, we've made it offical (edited my first post regarding it as result).

This means that you dont email us anymore - just click the link via our PROMOS section.

We also decided to make the 100GB valid for 12 months - i.e. won't expire at the end of your bill period! Customers who took up my original offer will also get this.

Smile

A couple of things in the fine print,

When you use data, it will come off the 100GB first.  That means, if you don't use it all in your first month, the montly data your given expires without being used.

If you join SS, you get given 100GB,  but if you sign up 5 mates, you get an TB (well 1025GB and not, 1099GB a technical Terabyte) but as a bonus, they take away the 100GB for your joining.

I feel that is really unjust to new customers,  taking away data that they deserve/earned for joining SS because they signup 5 new customers to SS.

I know Slingshot isn't expensive but that's cheap.
