One piece of advice - don't switch ISP and upgrade to fibre at the same time.  I did this when fibre became available a few years ago, moving from VF to Slingshot and it all went very wrong.

You should either switch your VDSL service to another ISP then upgrade, or get UFB installed with 2D then switch after any contract period.  The first option is probably simpler and quicker.

I've previously asked ISPs, once I'm off contract, if I need to move away from them for 12 months in order to get the "new customer" deals - the answer is usually "no"

Hi olivernz

We appreciate this offer may rankle with existing customers, however the $200 joining fee offer is only open to new customers signing up to a 12 month term with us. This offer has been extended to new sign ups till the 22nd of July btw.

That being said we're all about giving all our customers great value and a customer service that they want and deserve. We cannot discuss individual customers accounts in public so please can you reply to my PM so we can look into your account and see what options are available.

Cheers

What went wrong? As in my opinion, it is actually better to change ISP with a UFB connection. As it means that the xDSL is not going to get disconnected until the UFB is installed and working. And you give the OK to have the xDSL disconnected.

Sure, you will have some overlap where you will have to pay for both connections at the same time. But that is far better than having no internet because a disconnection order was placed on the xDSL before the UFB was verified as working.
